Politecnico and UniMI: sustainable Campus tests

Planting essences in a Urban garden, drive a electric machine, explore the subsoil of Milan: all this is possible during the two days dedicated to sustainability organized by Polytechnic and fromUniversity of Milan with the patronage of the municipality of Milan. There is little time to get organized, everything takes place between today, Friday 12 October, and tomorrow Saturday 13.

These two days were intended to inform and raise awareness among citizens on the issues of environmental sustainability through demonstration and dissemination initiatives at the two universities. In fact, the Polytechnic and the University of Milan have all the relevant skills to work on sustainability issues and for just over a year the two Milanese universities based in Città Studi have launched a project to transform their offices into a single "Sustainable campus".

Friday 12 October is dedicated to scientific seminars, to offer citizens the opportunity to explore issues of daily interest: from the quality ofbreathed air, to the importance of correct waste management.

The day of Saturday 13 October instead, it will be a real open day dedicated to families to discover unusual places to experiment with proposals for environmental innovation. Adults and children can taste blueberries distributed through a "vending machine" and taste yogurt and goats made with milk from a company in Pavia owned by the University of Milan; visit the botanical garden of Cascina Rosa with a path that winds for more than a kilometer; exchange second-hand items such as books, clothes, toys, but also intangible resources such as knowledge, time, skills.

In another university section, in Bovisa, you can bring your work tools to collaborate to the convivial garden, visit the first almost zero-energy building and for those who love fashion take a guided tour of the design workshops. A full calendar of free activities proposed to the city to raise awareness on various issues from air to water, from sustainable mobility to food, from waste to recycling, so that Città Studi quickly becomes and with the help of everyone a Sustainable campus.

Friday 12 October from 9.00: Osvaldo De Donato classroom - Milan Polytechnic, Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, 32

Saturday 13 October from 10.00: Campus Leonardo and Campus Bovisa of the Politecnico di Milano and Università degli Studi di Milano seat of Città Studi: field activities (for some, pre-registration is required to be done online)
