Outlander PHEV, the first plug-in SUV

The first Plug-in hybrid SUV in the world will be mass-produced and marketed throughout Europe as early as 2013. The manufacturer is Mitsubishi which with its Outlander PHEV will capture international attention at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The show, which takes place every two years in the French capital, will have the honor of hosting the first Plug-in SUV equipped with propulsion hybrid and rechargeable battery from an electrical outlet.

L'Outlander PHEV it will be launched in Japan at the beginning of 2013 and soon after it will also arrive in Europe. It is a full-fledged SUV, the new Three Diamonds SUV is 4.65 meters long and 2.67 meters wide. The design does not differ from that of the standard Outlander and the differences can be found in the technique: the acronym PHEV stands for Hybrid EV plug-in where the electric motors can be used instead of the traditional mechanical transmission, all this guaranteeing the maximum performance of a off road.

L'Outlander PHEV has different running modes such as, for example, the serial, where the heat engine acts as a current generator for the electric motors. The average consumption between the three driving modes was calculated for a record value of 61 km per liter.
