Pebble Houses is an avant-garde architectural concept a low environmental impact. It is the construction of two villas perfectly integrated in the natural context of Sardinia, perfectly adhering to the geomorphological characteristics of the land.
The concept was born fromenvironment surrounding in which the intervention is planned architectural. It is a seafront valley in the Is Molas area, in the province of Cagliari. Thesevillas private holidays will be interpreted as large boulders, taking up the concept of the granite boulders present and naturally scattered in the Sardinian landscape. A perfect fusion with theambientand surrounding area, while ensuring all the comforts derived from a suitable technical design and at the same time maintaining one's privacy, thanks to the different orientation of the two villas.
How will the Pebble Houses?
The shell of organic and asymmetrical shape encloses within it a space of 209 square meters distributed over two floors for a maximum height of 7 m. The ground floor includes the living area with kitchen, living room and storage area, on the first floor there are the two single bedrooms and the master bedroom with related services. There is also a 55 sqm terrace on the first floor which also serves as an outdoor covered area. On the ground floor a similar space with outdoor dining function and for the area solarium pool.
On the sea side, the construction will be in steel and glass, making this contrast between cutting-edge technology and integration even more evident. Materials, distribution and technical solutions make the building perfectly integrated into the surrounding environment and sustainable, with high energy efficiency solutions.
The two openings on the roof allow natural air recirculation: by adequately controlling the flow, they guarantee adequate levels of well-being in terms of hydro-thermal and light well-being throughout the year. A radiant floor system was provided for the heating. An architectural project that fully responds to the indications of the Kyoto protocol, with emissions zero CO2.
