In Italy, the first European renewable energy station

We talk about sustainable mobility, electric cars and charging stations. With all this talk, concrete actions are finally arriving and the first station of fast charging that exploits renewable energy. The station is located in the province of Latina, right here in Italy. There electric mobility it needs its springboard, on several occasions the autonomous houses themselves have thought about it.

To cast a electric mobility there is a need for cooperation between state incentives, the placing on the market of electric cars accessible and with good autonomy but above all, it is necessary to spread the infrastructures suitable for the supply of electric vehicles. With a view to this cooperation, the Dealer Citroen Nicola Prezioso in Aprilia, in collaboration with the Polo for Sustainable mobility of the Lazio Region (POMOS), research center of the La Sapienza University of Rome, have created two fast and slow charging stations, for electric cars, which exploit one of the main ones renewable sources of energy, the wind.

The two stations will be public and free thus, the owners of a electric cars, will be able to fill up their vehicle without the use of cards or season tickets. The two charging stations, in addition to being public and free, can boast of using renewable energy without emitting even a gram of CO2.

The charging station is powered by a wind generator of the latest generation with vertical axis but in the project, the integration of a concentrating photovoltaic system so as to enhance the capacity of the Station. The project was inaugurated by the Minister of the Environment Corrado Clini and installed at the Aprilia headquarters of the Citroen Dealership Nicola Prezioso.

In these terms, the Citroen C-Zero, the electric city car that has totaled 2,800 orders in Europe and more than 200 registrations in Italy, can fully claim to be a zero emissions thanks to its 100% electric solution that allows a range of 150 km.

Charging stations have these characteristics:
- Fast charging, recharges up to 80% of the battery in just 20 minutes with direct current at 400V.
-Traditional charging, recharges the battery in 6 hours in alternating current from renewables.
