When the light bulbs they no longer work we do not know what to do with them and we accumulate them at home or worse we throw them in the bins of the undifferentiated collection or we abandon them on the street. How to differentiate used bulbs
Energy-saving light bulbs, once their long and profitable task has been completed, become WEEE, waste from electrical and electronic equipment, therefore also our energy-saving light bulbs should not be thrown away in the “dry”, but must be disposed of separately.

How to dispose of the bulbs? It is possible to contact the shopkeeper who has the duty to collect them once they are exhausted. You can also refer to theConsortium for the Recovery and Disposal of Ecolamp Lighting Equipment, an association that brings together most of the lamp manufacturers. Just check on the Consortium website which is the nearest collection center, keep the spent lamps and, when needed, go and deliver them.

Useful information
The energy saving light bulbs they are up to 80% more efficient and help us save on bills, but we must not forget that they contain mercury, a highly toxic substance for the environment and our health. If it breaks, it is better to collect the shards with gloves and ventilate the room, so as not to absorb the substances contained in the bulb. Keep the pieces of the light bulb in a bag, to deliver them to those who will take care of their collection.
