Volkswagen E-Bugster


A green cabrio beetle? It bears the name of Volkswagen E-Bugster and was presented at the 2012 Beijing International Motor Show. The German car manufacturer created E-Bugster in a futuristic key and respecting the environment. E-Bugster is an electric two-seater convertible beetle.

Compared to the covered version presented at the Detroit show, the new E-Bugster it has a steeply sloping windshield, large wheel arches capable of hiding 20-inch wheels and chrome that extends from the rear-view mirrors to the rear. All features that accentuate its sporty line. It presents a combination of black and white that also recurs in the interior.

If desired, there is a hard-top to cover up during the winter months which guarantees ample rear visibility thanks to the large rear window. Of particular effect is the moment of switching on the E-Bugster: with the on / off control not only the car is turned on but also a choreographic lighting that floods the passenger compartment with white light that turns blue.

Instead of the conventional engine it is proposed with electric motor which weighs just 80 kilograms capable of delivering 116 horses. It has a power that guarantees the transition from 0-100 km / h in 10.8 seconds and offers a range of 180 kilometers.

Thanks to the fast charging function and the new combined charging system Combined Charging System, the E-Bugster Cabrio recharges in 35 minutes at charging stations (Quick charge) but can be charged at home via a normal socket by connecting it to the refueling port where the charging socket has been inserted.

To see the production model we would probably have to wait for the show and Los Angeles 2013.
