L'extra virgin olive oil Italian is one of the miondial excellence of the sector biological. Italy, in particular Sardinia, is confirmed for the second consecutive year at the top of excellence inorganic olive growing world.
It is theextra virgin Sardinian “S. Andria "of the Sandro Chisu oil mill in Orosei (Nuoro) the best organic oil of 2012. This oil, wins the Biol Award, the international festival reserved for the best organic oils, which for seventeen years, in Puglia, has been assigning the most important world awards in the sector.
The S. Andria "was the absolute best among the approximately 350 competing oils from 18 countries around the globe, for an almost complete coverage of international olive growing. The constant growth of Italian products is matched by the high quality of foreign oils: from Spain to Portugal, up to surprising Slovenia.
Puglia on its laurels with four prizes: second place for "De Carlo", monovarietal Coratina di Bitritto, and third with the Molfetta "Marcinase-Maria oil"By Gregorio Minervini, in ex aequo with the Sicilian"First”Of the Frantoi Cutrera di Ragusa. The Apulians win the prize BiolKids, ACU project in which a mini-panel of primary school pupils joined international jurors to proclaim the most pleasant oil for young palates, with the "Eccelso" by Andriese Agrolio.
In the section BiolPack the award went to the Apulian company Pantaleo di Fasano, with "Pantaleo Young", As the best label-packaging combination assigned by a specific jury of experts in communication and consumption: in addition to the aesthetics of the packaging, the choice of various recyclable materials such as glass, plastic cap and detachable paper proved to be decisive.
The special prize for bottle innovation went to the Spanish Cartijo de Suerte Alta. The award ceremony will be held on March 26 in the Bari Chamber of Commerce, on the occasion of the inaugural conference of the "Organic week in Puglia". The BIOL is the best way to know, evaluate, select and enhance the best quality organic olive oil.
To ensure prestige and international recognition there is the patronage offered by IFOAM -World Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements- and that of Ministry of Agriculture of the Italian Government.
